Motivational Mondays: Advice From a Cat's First Vacation
This weekend I have been on small trip with my parents. The trip was completely last minute, I am talking about instant messaging mom while we are working at 11 wishing for a vacation, 12:00 telling me to run home at 5 to pack me and my cat, 2:00 getting the Rx for my cat to travel chill, and then 6:00 headed on the road. It has been wonderful. We have had no obligations since we own the home we stayed at and no itinerary. I got to meet up with an old friend, see a movie I have been dying to see, and read constantly.
I think the person who had the best time has been Hermes, my cat. He laid in the sun....
He explored, he played, he did everything, but most importantly he RELAXED!!
So how does this apply to my motivational Mondays? I think we need to take advice from my cat, even though he cannot really talk. We need to enjoy life a little more, take the time to relax. Oftentimes we are always going. Mom and Dad and I this morning were thinking that had we been at home, we would be thinking about all the cleaning and all the projects we had to get done when instead they went on bike rides and hiked. I played pickle ball and read and enjoyed my time in my room.
Not all of us can get away as much as we would really like, either work gets in the way or finances don't allow it. We can take time to relax wherever we are. Some of the things I like to do are: going out to a park on a nice day and reading on a blanket, treating myself to a movie, taking a bath and having a free spa day.
It is hard to put our daily duties and tasks out of our minds, sometimes I find myself checking work emails when I shouldn't be because I am off the clock.
So comment below about the activities you do to relax!
