Office Dementors

Today I would like to talk about "Office Dementors". Dementors are a fictional character from the Harry Potter series. If you have not read them or watched the movies - then shame on you. For real. Here is a photo of them:

In the office place lately, I have experienced a lot of "Dementors", They can be people, experiences, and even your own thoughts. Honestly though, I would like to relate this post to people.

Some people bask in the glory of being the rudest, most depressed thing ever. They want to take everyone down with them. Last week I had an encounter with an "Office Dementor", they were just having a terrible week, This is not my fault!

I do the best I can every day to assure that my work is at my greatest. I make sure that everyone is accepting of it, and that it is up to par with what they want. But sometimes others fall behind and like to put that blame on others. Well I was victim of this. I will not name names, or describe positions, but it still made feel like I cannot do my job. AND that is something I am NOT okay with.

But in relation to my Harry Potter theme, I had to remember something:

You can make the choice to be angry about it, or we can turn our cheek, and keep going and prove them wrong. I like to call this my patronus! What is a patronus? Well it is only the thing that can get rid of a Dementor! Seriously! Go read the books! You are missing out on magical awesomeness!!!!!!!

A patronus can be in the shape of an animal, this picture above is just one of the many. Each patronus is unique just like the wizard who conjures it!

I know that I am just a squib (a wizard with no magical powers), but I had to keep all of this in mind this week.

So what is my message to you? Don't let the Office Dementors suck the happiness out of you. You can conquer them and not let them suck your soul! YOU CAN FIGHT THEM!

This is my lesson of the week.
